A stopwatch answers a different question from a timer: not how long is left, but how long that took. Lap times are what make it useful, the split for each length, each round and each attempt, because a single total tells you almost nothing about where the time went.
This one counts from the clock rather than from frames, which matters more than it sounds. A stopwatch that counts frames slows down whenever the tab is not in front, so the total you read after switching windows is quietly short. Here, leaving the page and coming back gives you the right number.
The tip: press lap rather than stop at the end of each round. Splits recorded live are accurate; splits reconstructed afterwards from a single total are guesses. Lap is on the L key, so you can record without looking for the button, and the fastest split is highlighted once there are two to compare.
