Twelve hours is a nursing shift, half a day, and one of the windows people set when they eat on a schedule. It is the span that cuts a day cleanly into a working half and a resting one, and long enough that you will be a different kind of tired at the end than you were at the start.
In a kitchen it is an overnight prove, a cold brew, or a stock left on the lowest ring the stove can manage. In a workshop it is most finishes between coats.
The tip: for anything twelve hours out, write the end time down somewhere that is not this tab. The countdown survives a reload, a sleep and a locked phone, because it is anchored to the clock. What it cannot survive is the tab being closed by an update at hour nine, and nothing in a browser can.
Press start or the space bar, and turn on notifications if you would rather hear about it wherever you are.
Come back to the same page and it picks up correctly, including showing the finished state if the time has passed. But nothing can alert you while the tab is closed, so leave it open if the moment matters.
As accurate as your device's clock. Nothing accumulates, because each update subtracts the current time from a stored end time rather than counting ticks since the start.
Use a shared countdown link. It carries the exact end time inside the address, so the other person sees the same finishing moment wherever they open it.
